FREE ONLINE WEST COAST SWING TUTORIALS

Welcome to the WCSA Video Library! Here, you can learn from our public, free West Coast Swing video tutorials. Why not start your practice by following a warm up, or focus on a specific drill with us today? New videos added all the time!

What will I find here?

Today, you'll find a mostly solo dancing content, as we've started this video library during the COVID-19 social distancing measures to support our students and community who are itching to keep dancing. But no fear—in the future, we plan to upload partner-based tutorials, once we can all dance together again!

We love to interact with you! Tag us in your practice videos on social media or share your comments with us via Facebook/Instagram (@wcsamsterdam) or by email using the contact form at the bottom!

West Coast Swing Amsterdam
Hello! Here is the short, 32-count solo choreo (20 seconds). This video is longer because I show it from many angles to help you out. 😀

0:00 Introduction
0:41 Demo (with music)
1:20 Steps explanation (from side and from back)
4:41 Optional styling tip!
5:13 Practice with me (without music)
6:34 Practice with me (with music)

📷 RECORDING CHECKLIST:
1. Record in landscape (widescreen) on your phone.
2. Start the song from the beginning—just dance for fun during the intro (first 48 counts)!
3. When the lyrics start, that's when you begin the choreo.
4. Hold your final pose for some extra seconds.
5. Send your video to Jennifer by WhatsApp by Saturday night!

I hope you have a lot of fun with this! The choreo is focused on WCS footwork, but go ahead and add some personality & styling into it—and of course, SMILE!

The song we are dancing to:
“I Want You Back” by Jackson 5 (because we want dance back!)
